Seriously way too addictive...
Back in't day, when GameBoys were BIG, and every Game and Watch LCD game you had gained you at least 30 xScenexPointsx, I remember going into Dixons every Saturday for 20 minutes to play on Tetris. It always seemed to be the game that they had on there, and I loved it. Alas - I could not afford a Gameboy, as I always blew my 50p a week pocket money on hard, sour cola bottles.
Anyhoo -in my final year of 6th form college during computing lessons, after playing java pacman on www.bennychow.com for 6 months (3 lessons a week!) I came across www.miniclip.com. More importantly, miniclip.coms Tetris.
As soon as I got home, I downloaded it onto my PC, moved counterstrike aside on the desktop, and played my heart out. After upgrading my computer from a P3 450 to an Athlon 1Ghz, I forgot about tetris - up until 4 months ago! I've played it every couple of days, and I'm seriously hooked! It beats anything on newgrounds, bennychow and shockwave put together.
After my operation 2 weeks ago, I was forced to learn to type with one hand (I'm not doing so badly), and also, had to give up my spacebar hand. Things get seriously fast in later levels, so I've been practising. I beat my two hand record of level 8 singlehandedly with a whopping level 10, with 4195 points and 139 rows.
Anyone who can beat that hets a slap on the wrist.
There isn't much point to this short essay, other than to share my love for one of the classic games and a to waste a little time while the water heats up for the shower. Although this isn't quite as mindblowing as the original, the basic game is there, along with lots of blippy music. Got to love level 2s tune.
I'm off to play more tetris...
