The whole "we bought all the stock!" boll*cks from OcUK is unbelievable, they really are full of it sometimes...

I'd recommend buying from either of these two over OcUK any day of the week. Unfortunately I was lured by OcUK's marketing and bought my GTO2 from them, wish I had held on and looked around more.

Damn, neither of those two had the GTO2 in stock earlier this morning.

Would have bought it from microdirect if they said they had stock

Thanks for the links Jim, I'll look into them

Don't s'pose you know how the GTO2 performs against the latest nVidia offerings? But I guess if it can out match the X850 as mentioned earlier, that's good enough for anyone!

Whenever a retailer is mentioned, http://users.hexus.net retailers listings should be refered to. Especially with overclockers.

Thought id test it out, so added my spare gig of generic pqi crap, and load times are much improved, although there isnt much of a difference in game

I have a gig of fast ram and a stripped down OS, and I get an annoying stutter in BF2 for the first few minutes of play in a map.

Looking at task manager shows the game using huge amounts of ram and the stutter is casued by the OS paging everything it can to the swap file.

I have 2gb and for the 1st few seconds of a map u get stutter then its fine, its the loading times thats the annoying bit, what exactly is it doing that takes so long, surely you have all the rescources on your machines so its just chucking/checking files...

If youre annoyed by the loading times with 2 gig pull one of them out and see how annoyed youget then!

Hehehe, I had 1gb before but did a bit of an upgrade to the x2 3800, 2Gb and the x800 from an XP3200, 1Gb and a 9800Pro and havent really noticed that much difference, its a bit smoother and I can ramp the gfx up more but thats about it...

2 gig means you can use high quality textures with basically no speed penalty. With medium textures and only a gig, I get slow loading times and some slowdown for a few seconds in 64 player games. It's not a big thing but I'd love to get a replacement.
