    The Elder Scrolls IV:Oblivion Delayed

Seems the game has been put back to 1st quarter 2006 (Feb-April) No reason has yet been given.

I bet it's the radiant AI. I'm glad they have the jewels to miss out on the holiday season and Xbox 360 launch rather than put out a buggy game though.

Take two gave the reason as being development polish or something. Just the usual slippage to make the game better, I'm fine with it and just glad that take two allowed them the freedom to do it (doubt they would have been chosen otherwise).

Also makes marketing sense - all very well being a launch title, but when MS say they aren't going for a big numbers launch and instead will be releasing steadily it makes sense to actually have a larger 360 market to launch into. Ditto the PC, if the game is as hardware hungry as Morrowind was in it's day then the delays will help it have a larger market base when it does release.

reading other fourms it made me laugh to see that people are blaming the X360 version for the delay, when PC versions are actually MUCH harder to get right and demand more testing due the variety of system confiurations it will have to work on.

That's a real shame, but a game of this size will no doubt need a lot of checking for bugs etc. There will still be plenty other titles to keep us going till it comes out.
