    BF2 - bombing stuff

OK, so I've looked around and I can't find much help on this.
I recenly bought BF2 after playing the demo for a little while. I love it, especially with the 1.3 patch. Its not perfect by any means, but its very enjoyable.

The manual is hopeless though, and doesn't explain a few things, which may be obvious to some but not to me.

For example, how do you accurately bomb stuff from the jets? When you switch to bombing mode, you get a bomb reticle, but I don't get how to use it. Is it just for show?

Also, in the Russion jet that has two seats, the weapons guy has control of an air to ground missile - how do you use that?

    Thanks!

select the bombs with the scroll wheel, then its the right mouse button to drop 'em

as for the air to ground missle, if you mean the TV guided missle.... thats solid to get a good hit with, for me anyway... lol im more of a ground soldier myself, although i do like the gun helicopters.

Yeah, I know how to select the bombs, its more how to use them properly is the problem. I thought the aiming site that comes is used to help aim the bombs, but maybe its not...

Are there any guidelines at alll...?

I just fly aiming the centre crosshairs at the target and then release. Make sure you pull up though, as you can get damage from your own bombs.

TV guided rockets (theres an american bomber with em too btw) can be REALLY good if you know how to use them and your pilot flies straight towards the target. If he wobbles around like a madman you might as well eject.

Just do some practice in single player, you can swap to be gunner too btw.

When you are bombing you may get a green crosshair appearing where the site is.

However its often the case that you can only bomb obvious targets that your own guys aren't sitting in - so you line up the ground site with something and hit the button when its hovering over the target bomb area......

    Not much help I know

    Thanks for this, very helpful.

I tried using bf2s.com, but it can't find my stats. Complains about the characters I might have used, but I haven't.... Is there a different id apart from my user name I should be using?

    Mutley,

FYI you need over 100 points before BF2S will show your stats, I don't know if you have over 100 or not ?.

Also, it can take half an hour before the stats for you have been collected from E.A., check the site again in half an hour as you may be fine then

Good question on number of points. I'm pretty much a n00b - just go promoted to PFC. I've been playing the demo for quite a while though.

Bombing is easy and you sure don't need a recticle for it. get used to how they fall and thats all the aiming you need.
