    No F.E.A.R.

    First of all...

Where has this game been all my life!!

Theres no better feeling than casually bicycle kicking a wounded, fleeing enemy in the back in slow motion, its like the best feeling in gaming history EVER!!

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The reason for this thread is to see if F.E.A.R. does incite fear in you...

I of course don't find F.E.A.R. scary at all; okay okay so its made me jump like a slag a few times but jumping is not fear in MY book...so far I've gleefully kicked, punched, naded and blasted my way to Interval 6

    Over to you people...

NOTE: I'm beavering away making a short video of my combat escapades in F.E.A.R.

I dont consider it scary scary but it is kinda cool, and parts made me jump first time though (like Alma crawling at you in that weird way in the ducts). Still a great game, made me replace my 6600GTs for a 7800GT so I could get up to 1280x1024 goodness.
What we share with everyone is glum, and dark...

Depends what you mean by scarey. I wasnt frigtened by this game, but I s*** my pants a few times during the game (ventshaft/ladder) . It did create a good tense atmosphere that I was drawn into, but I wasnt really scared to play.

    CoolerMaster ftw!!!

Yep, Bad Water is THE FEAR level, tbh... or the one where you have to shut off the fire alarm and you turn around and OMG!!!!

But I won't it for those who've not got that far yet.

It's certainly the most atmospheric game to date and could have done with a lot more creppy/scary moments.

The pacing is a little off in that a few odd things happen, you spot a ghost or see someone run into a dead-end to find no-one there... but then nothing happens after that...

What I find to be the biggest downer is the mix of suspense and action, it's just a little 'off'... the game spends time winding you up then throws you inot a firefight which takes all the tension out of the game...

Otherwise, its a good game, especially if you play it in the dark with the surround sound cranked up... Not quite as creepy as System Shock 2, but getting there.

i gave the FEAR demo a shot or two, but failed to get into it. as an FPS, i just found it annoying to play, and as a scary game, well, if it's not Resident Evil 4 it might as well not bother trying.

Nope, not scary at all. Except when the ghosts start going faster, and you have to move the wee little yellow munching thing that bit quicker, and you've run out of those power dots. Now thats scary.

It's not scary, it just makes you jump in places.. Although you can tell when something is going to happen a lot of the time, others you can't
