    Sony inadvertidly helping Cheats prosper...

I've just had a bit of a brain wave.

Sony's "new" CD protection system thats supposed to protect CD's is being used by WoW cheaters at the moment to hide their addons which probably farm stuff automatically.

Now the memory residency of the files is "hidden" due to the CD protection system being used TO HIDE these cheats and the process is extremely easy to do.

Now... Have Sony GONE and shot every gamer in the head with this ?

If I have read things correctly, a simple edit would enable any FILE to be hidden while in USE and because its "hidden" by the sony CD protection system, any 3rd party scanning utility such as say punkbuster, VAC, VAC2 etc "might" night be able to see them.

For me I see this as the result of the sudden demand to get it to market as soon as possible and not really think about the solutions.

I was reading up the other day about the new Brothers In Arms game, apparently they applied some sort of new copy protection to the Earned in Blood executable, what they hadn't tried though, was launching the original EXE, as this, so I am told launches the new game, totally avoiding the investment in protection.

I personally think this sort of failure to collaborate has lead to these issues coming around, if media companies and developers work together they can solve these issues appearing.

For me the major concern now is the HD-DVD VS BluRay, lets just see how these go, but in all honesty, its the companies shooting themselves in the foot by saying my way is better than your way.....

Yes, but are there people using this trick for other games now how do it guides have been released on all the major news sites?

If my thoughts are correct then I expect to see a rash of hacking, super speedy cheaters on servers very soon
