    Quake 4 framrate problem

I have a wierd problem with Quake 4. I loaded up a saved game, and it was running at 10fps. In places with stuff going on it went down to 3fps, obviously something wrong. I tryed another save, same thing. I then restarted my PC, and it was ok.

Same thing happens again, though restarting doen't do anything. Ive tryed running with fraps on and without, and set my dual core, to just one core, same thing.

    WTF?

you got the 512mb Ultra settings on by anychance? turn them off and drop to high settings everything on, there is no difference in the two My 6800GT runs the high settings fine so your 7800 should crap all over it.

Nooooo, no, no, it's not a normal poblem, i beat the game last week or w.e fine, it's just started doing it, and i have no idea why. Sometimes it's fine, other times it not, and i don't change any settings.

this might not help but i found with doom3 and ROE that using quicksave and quickload, instead of manually loading and saving the games, made the fps drop rapidly at times, like a memory leak or something, and restarting was the only way to sort it
