    Question old skool racing

What racing games, arcade & console, would you say were the great games prior to Gran Turismo? Pole Position and Bump N' Jump are pretty legendary.

stunt (i think it was another name for stunt car racer) was awesome - full 3d, and you could build your own track and play over a serial link.. absolutely awesome.

Was Pole Position II the one where you do the job of the Pit Crew too? If so, I used to play that on the C64! That and Spy Hunter were the main OLD OLD driving games I remember.

    snap!

played that to death on an old Toshiba "portable" computer. Predated laptops as it had conventional RAM, 5 1/2" hard drive, conventional power supply (actually took a 3pin kettle lead) and an integrated flat screen (it has 7 shades of orange and black, seem to think it might have been an early plasma, seems to ring a bell).

Spec: 386DX 20, 4mb ram, 102mb hard drive, and i think there was a "maths co-processor" in it too.
