Played through the Quake 4 demo, my impressions!!!!

    Hey guys,
a few hours ago I downloaded the new quake 4 demo! Well, I just finished playing thorugh it and I can say I am going to buy it now! At first, I was a bit iffy in buying this, but for X-mas here I come The controls are quite good and the guns are great! In the demo you just have to go around and shoot loadsa strogg. But Ii figure next time I play im gonna play on a lower diffuculty, because its very annoyig with the aounts of hits they tale! The graphics is quite amazing, not quite FEAR, but better than Doom3. It is very fun and isn't all darak and some places are outside which is very fun! The multiplayer isn't working right now, but I played a map by myself. It is very fast paced and seems like Q3 a bit This is a great game, and I'm definetly going to get it at X-mas

what are your thoughts on it?

I really enjoyed the single player, and the graphics and level creativity (like the typical Id Software style rooms with really well thought out machines) really amazed me, and I took around 1gb of screenshots lol :/ Performance was pretty fly too, I thought.

But I think I only spent 7 hours on it, so I am going to have another thrash at it

I thought that Quake 4 was good at first, but it just got so hideously repetitive after the first few levels, also, I'd just been playing FEAR and as such, this showed up Quake 4 as the bland, same old blast everything that moves kind of first person shooter it sadly is...

Whilst FEAR is far from perfect, the level of meleé combat and the theme made it all the more appealing to me...

From the videos I saw, I was hoping it would have been a Starship Troopers-esque kind of game with loads of onscreen charaters and huge sweeping levels as seen in Serious Sam...

Q4 is a good game but what makes it better for me is the multiplayer.

At the last Gameon LAN they had a server for Q4 and I thought bugger it I'll try it out in MP as opposed to SP.

The games totally different in Multiplayer, its pretty straight forward - and this provided hours of fun... well till about 3am when all the rest of them decided that it was time to get even more drunk and play drunken HL2DM or BF2
