I have been browsing some 360 forums and have never heard of a Xbox keyboard and mouse. Can you just plug normal ones into the USB ports?

I thought Microsoft said they would not be supporting keyboards and mice for gaming on the 360?

But I'm not sure if online games where you have to enter text manually will allow you to use a USB keyboard. :S

The xb0x 360 has 3 USB ports into which you can plug in whatever you want, its up to the game developers to support them though, which they wont do. Im sure once the homebrew guys get working you will have sorts of stuff that will use them though.

You can use a normal USB keyboard to type in the 360's messenger program and games like FFXI where you need to talk to others. MS will not allow keyboard & mouse for game use (good)

Yeah apparently using a mouse and keyboard would be considered cheating compared to a joypad. I can understand that.... sort of. keyboard & Mouse + 1337 skills = upset halo fanboys getting whooped

On IGN they had a video of a guy whopping arse by using the Xbox 360 controller agianst a guy using keyboard/mouse on the PC verison of Halo, the mouse was better for aiming at long range but pad was much faster and more responsive at close range.

Truth. Microsoft never released any "official" keyboard & mice peripherals for the original XBox because they didn't want it to be seen like a computer; they wanted its image to remain that of a console, so obviously "copying" a computers input devices wouldn't exactly have helped that.

I can't see many developers adding keyboard & mouse support into their games any time soon; if they did, what would be the point? If you wanted to play a game on a keyboard & mouse, why not just.... buy a PC rather than a console?
