I'll be interested to have a look at it, but regardless of whether it is a step forward from the last game or not, it's still not going to be as good a representation of the sport as the Madden series for a number of reasons.

There are too many options available to the player at any given time in rugby, whereas in American Football each play is scripted, and there are a limited number of options available (granted they still overlook the "lateral") which can be easily controlled.

Just look at the kicking element of rugby in open play. A long kick to the corners, an up and under, a grubber kick, a little chip over the defence .... Add this to the passing element, sidestepping/handing off etc, let alone any planned moves, and the number of options quickly gets out of hand.

Still, I'll have a look at it and see what happens.

I've tried the last two rugby series games and just found them frustrating. The only good rugby game ever was Johna Lomu Rugby for the ps1 , I used to play that so much it was silly. 2v2 matches were great when I was at uni.

Shame EA can't capture the game play bit from that game and give it an eye candy update.
