Free Beta Version Of Final Fantasy XI

Xbox 360 : OXM will be giving away the free beta version of FFXI
Issue 4 hits the shelves on January 5, 2006. The free beta version of FFXI, which comes on a second disc included with the mag, will allow you to join in the beta test of the MMORPG on Xbox 360. And of course, you'll also feel all warm and gooey inside about the fact that you're helping Square Enix put the title through it's paces.

I will definately be picking this up

Just read this on the OXM site. This sort of strategy could get SquareEnix a lot more sales for FFXI, i for one will be giving it a try. Although i don't think i will buy it, one MMORPG is enough for me. I have no life as it is

I think the rumour is that there will be a montly charge.

I've never played the Final Fantasy series so I'm looking forward to finding out what all the fuss is about

Meh, I'll play the Beta to death then.

I refuse to pay for xbox Live, and be charged again for an online game. Whats the difference between that and say, Halo 2? The makers still have to pay for the servers....

I just don't see the point!

Its a MMORPG, i would expect to pay a monthly charge. Its never much and if you enjoy the game always worth it .

BlackDwarf its not like Halo2 since they have teaming contantly working on new things to be added to the game, people hired to go to work every day and work on expanding the game.

Also why refuse to pay for xbox live? its £3.33r a month (if you pay for 1year) and you get access to some really cool stuff. Maybe thats just my view on £3.30.

If you've never played a FF game then this game is probably not the best place to start. Its completely different to the PS games that most people rave about.

Get a SNES emulator and FFIV (FFII in the U.S.). Then try out FFVI (FFIII in the U.S.) if you like that one. I can also recommend 7, 8, and 10. 5 was pretty good too. There, I've listed the ones I've played through. I'm in the process of trying to make it through the first one, but I'm having a hard time getting through it.

That movie was pretty cool. I was pretty skeptical at first, but once I downloaded it, rock on. I need to watch it a few more times, since I was reading the subtitles the whole time.

Yeah, the story was really wierd (as was the one from the game). If I tried to watch the movie with one of my friends, I would be laughed out of existence.
