    Nintendo Revolution Video

A fan produced video which shows a demo of how the contoller may work with games such as
Super Mario Sunshine, Soulcalibur II and F-Zero GX.

BTW I have not watched this--yet, so it might be a load of rubbish

I hope more people feel the same way. If Nintendo goes under, we will enter an endless cycle of next gen consoles offering nothing more than better graphics and higher costs.

10 short clips of how the Nintendo Revolution controller might work.

Yup its fan made with a 3D model for hte controller. Some good ideas in it though, would be cool if it works at the creator thinks it will

    Revolution looks very promising.

A lot of people bash Nintendo, but at least they are bringing a new dimension to console gaming.

You either have too much money, or are the fool who always parts with his money.

If you really have enough money, I recommend buying one of the consoles and spending the rest on games, a jumbo box of rubbers, and liquor.

What did the gamecube bring to the market that the ps2 and xbox didnt? For me, it brought nothing besides a few gamecube only classics but hardly inovitive. I hope the Revolution can bring back some confidence in Nintendo.

I can list a few things off the top of my head...

Small Form Factor, took up alot less space than the ps2 (original) and ofc teh Xbox

intuitive controller that fits big and small hands and works for all game types (i am not a fan of the psx/one/2/two controller, its horrible for anything but sports and racing games, and the xbox controller urgh, too much like the Dreamcast one - way oversized)

Next to no Loading times on games, despite using dvd media

Plenty of innovative games (first one that comes to mind, pikmin) and ofc all the nintendo classics that almost every gamer loves.

4 players out-of-the-box - ok not exactly a new innovation but still something sony didn't do

Fancy gfx/sound are par for the course so not worth mentioning those.

A copy protection that worked for months before it was broken, and even then that was only via a PSO hack and needed your PC to stream your homebrew apps to it, it was over a year before a mod-chip came out for it...

I think the gamecube was a failure for nintendo though, it was (i think) built to compete with the xbox and PS2, and while it was almost there with the Xbox and way above the PS2 technically speaking, Nintendo still suffer from this totally wrong and unfair 'uncool' image that they are there for kids, and that the ps2/xbox is there for the rest.

Still it was more innovative than the ps2 (which imho was just a PSX with fancy graphics and sound..oh and a network option + usb)

The size was definitely very good, but I wasn’t so hot on the controller. I find the xbox controller-s to be fantastic and great for racing and fps alike.

The only way Nintendo can ever compete with MS and Sony is by being innovative, but rehashing 20 year old game characters continuously is not the way and the market for the undeniably "cutesy" cartoony looking games is never going to be as big as the sports, racing and action market that the ps2 and xbox dominate.

That's true about the markets, and unfortunately that's the world we live in. Rehashed sports games sell, and sell well. innovative games that have 'cute' characters don't sell that well on this side of the world. C'est la vie I guess, and tbh as long as I can buy myself a revolution and don;t have to waste money on a 360 or ps3 i'll be happy, doesnt really matter what the rest of the world do does it i guess

I heard that the Revolution might be sold for under £100, is there any truth in that?
If so, I will definately buy it. I think I will still go for the PS3, but at that price, I would buy both. Even just for Mario Kart.

There is a lot of truth in that. Rumour has it the spec is about the same as an xbox, this would allow them to flog them cheap and still make money.

Here's something for the "nintendo going bust" "gamecube failed" lot. Nintendo made the most money last generation. And has reserves of about $6bn. They are not going bust any time soon and have a very prosperous future.
