Does anyone who has a 360 notice any difference in image quality while playing in 720p and 1080i?
Does anyone who has a 360 notice any difference in image quality while playing in 720p and 1080i?
I very much doubt anyone here has a 1080i TV, but i may be wrong.
720p is better for fast graphics, 1080i is better for detail apparently
and I would tend to agree from what I've seen on my 435 XDE HD plasma and 360
I have a 1080i compatible TV and I must say you can notice the difference, in both picture quality and in detail. I suppose the difference is a bit like running HL2 on 1024x768 and 1280x1024.
Hope this helps
Chris
I have played the 360 on both screen specs. Detail looks better in 1080i. I however did not notice any difference in speed between the two.
Cheers
No difference in speed at all... Fifa 06 still slows down whether in 720p, 1080i or on a standard pal TV..
The HD makes everything much more enjoyable though, as you dont have to squint to read stuff thats all blurred. When I got my 360 last week I put it on my standard TV and yeah, it was out of this world compared to the xbox and PS2, but still lacked that wow factor that it gave when I put it on my HDTV.
I just makes you wonder, that what are these games gonna be like in 6 months time? Things can only get better!

So what's a good TV for a bedroom for running Xbox 360 at 1080i? Max screen size needs to be 28" or less.
My HDTV supports 1080i. however its optimal at 720p as 1080i has to be scaled up to fit on my 32" LCD.
Most games will only truly support 720p wich is very good on its own. as far as i know most of the release games only had 720p.
Well AFAIK my TV supports 1080i, well at least thats what my 360 is set to. Ive just paid a LOT of money for it so it bloody well should!
Chris
1080i should be faster to render, since it's less vertical scanlines than 720p. Will depend on how the game is coded, though, given how Xenon works.
MOLLY AND POPPY!
Most now seem to support 1080i, unless you bought it months ago. I bought mine on Tuesday in the UK so it depends on what you want and how much your willing to spend?!Originally Posted by 5lab

1366x768 resolution, according to that pdf. it will accept and display 1080i, but it will have downscaled it to 1366x768p.. which basically means you wont see much difference between 1080 and 720 (infact, i'd expect the 720 to look *better* on this screen)
