i think it was quite clever, just an interesting approach to how games work
Bought Uplink, Introversion's first game, when it was released and loved it. Followed the development of Darwinia and got shown how to play it at the European Games Network by one of Introversion and loved it. Bought the full game when it came out in March.
The graphics will obviously put some people off (retro graphics doesn't mean it looks old and/or rubbish), as will the it not being the easiest game to play from the start (as with Uplink, you don't get many instructions), but once you get into it you'll love it.
I played the demo. Took me a while to get into it, but I really enjoyed it. I liked the different and refreshing approach. Its great to see developers willing to take a risk. The game does require a fair degree of careful thought, but has some good 'action' moments too.
I thought that I was supposed to be getting Darwinia for xmas! Played the demo ages ago, and thought it was pretty close to a perfect game. It's just one of those games that I haven't gotten around to getting yet.
downloaded the demo again last night. Great fun!
