    Gran Turismo 4 -- PS2

According to developers Polyphony Digital the full version of GT4 will be released in the spring and will take up two discs, onto which will be crammed over 500 vehicles and 50-plus courses.

why oh why cant they port this game onto PC... i dont want to have to fork out a load of money for a ps2... but it looks like i might have to - esp if this game lives up to the hype that the past 3 games made

Simply put the game just wouldnt work on pc. Few racers do imo. The control system for a start, you need a dual shock to play it properly- steering wheels are a joke.

Most peoples pcs wouldnt run it. The majority of gamers use geforce 4 mx's and less. Not evryone has the hardware that the game demands.

Sales would be pathetic- just arent pc players who would definately guarnteed buy the game. Now as for gt3- 6 copies of that have been sold to every 10 ps2's.

It will NEVER be ported/made for pc as sony owns the developer Polyphony Digital.

Unless you get a decent ps2 emulator, but one capable of running the GT series is *way* off

I'm a bit pissed off they keep going the way of more is better.

I mean really, out of those 500 cars, probably 400 are pretty crappy one's you'll never want to buy/drive in-game.

The only reason I bought a PS2 was for GT3 so I can't wait to get my grubby hands on GT4.

I can't see it being 100% internet based, that would just be silly but I really do hope there is a network play option.

    GT on PC?

Already been done.. well near as dammit is to swearing..

    www.liveforspeed.net

Many online, though you can play against AI. Makes GT look like an arcade game as the handling is well, near perfect.

I tried that about 6 months ago. It doesn't come close to Gran Turismo in my opinion. Bag of poo

LFS, although interesting [must say, had it for about 2weeks. It's nice, but nothing compared to what you can get on PC], is nothing compared to GT4.

It's won't be solely online. It's being released alongside a 900degree wheel, that looks stunning. I want to drive all the cars.

    Vive la Autumn Ring!

LFS is written by 3 people and isn't finished. 6 months ago would of been an old demo XTR. Get LFS S1 for 12 quid then tell me it's pap...

Much more of a simulator than GT. Lacks the number of cars and they're not "real" but then tbh neither was GT cars. They might of looked like their counterparts but drove nothing like them in detail. That's the problem with GT, too much crammed into one game which leads to stuff not being quite "right".

Don't get me wrong, it's fantastic.. but just doesn't quite do it for me.
