I've been to roughly 6 LAN parties, this will be increasing to 8 within the next 6 weeks

The LAN parties really depend on the people who attend them as to how they fan out over the course of the weekend. The last thing you want is a clan that want to have a good drinking session on the Saturday, only to be surrounded by 10 other clans of "uber 1337 wannabes" who frown upon any activity thats not involving a computer.

The ones we go to have more a casual, laid-back approach which works EXTREMELY well and after a few shandy's most of us can be found in a large group chatting and having a laugh inbetween blowing each others heads off.

    Another reason the Gameon LAN parties are so good is the fact they have great admins and do not enforce games to a certain time. The last thing you want is to be told the following ;

" AT 6pm we will be playing BF2 until 9pm, then this will change to CS:S from 9pm till 12am "

We tend to play something we want to all the time, with the odd bit of BF2 jeep launching goodness while under the influence of the LAN juice

Awww... now you've made me want to go Lanning now - shame the next 1 is about 2 weeks away

    Thanks for the reply Lee

What Lan are you going to..I need to go to others to borrow ideas..

Ours are over a day....after all it my Dad's House...

I have wondered how you sort out which game when...currently we all decide to play so we play one till we fancy a change

Surprisingly the Parties have all been booze free..well apart from when we go down the pub at lunch times

well you can always come to sunny Essex for some lanning if you wish

    Hello,

I have been to a few of the thread starters LAN and think they are great, just need some more people!

I feel that it works well as it is and the pub lunch works well, although if service is slow can be time consuming.

Its just getting more of the right people to come along IMO, maybe renting out a hall etc...

    Hi all,

I thought I would resurrect this post. I'm GJUK's partner in crime at Lan-GM. We are organising another event here (14th May). We are looking to expand to a larger premisis but can only do this if we get more people to join in, you know what I'm going on about

Also what games do you like to play at these sort of events???

    Cheers!
