it's entirely possible - my first play of RE2 was the PC version, ditto Silent Hill 2 & 3

that said, i'm not sure the controls would go down well - they feel right on a joypad, but PC gamers will find them annoying, and a straight keyboard-and-mouse replacement would make it too easy

Yeah would love mouse aiming Handcannon headshots everytime
Think this would be a great port and if it sells well hope it would make developers realise that the PC market isnt just MMORPG and FPS and decent console conversions can make a profit. Would love to see other AAA console titles make it to the pc that have actually been upgraded for the platform.
For anyone interested Resident Evil 3 is out on pc budget next month as well.

    it would work too well

which is the problem - it'd make the game ridiculously easy - unless they stuck with the console-style controls, which everyone would hate

on that front - "Why not just use a ps2?"

(or a gamecube anyway, for the better graphics)

blindly porting games from one platform to another serves no purpose, and generally gives a poor indication of how the game should be experienced (imaging playing super monkey ball with a keyboard, or counterstrike with a joystick)

if a pc port requires a joypad to be playable - why port it to the pc in the first place?

So people who have a PC with a joypad (as most gamers do) can play it and enjoy it without purchasing a console!

just purchased Resi 4 for the PS2, it ROX! Graphics are sweet, sound great and the genral game premise has been buffed to new levels. now more of a horror shooter than a survival horror but still great.

The Capcom game ports are usually pretty poor as the textures for PS2/GC/xbox games are much lower resolution and they seem to put very little effort into changing them for PC.

i'll be curious to see whether they port the GC or PS2 version - the textures on the GC version are higher resolution, the models are higher poly, and the lighting is ten times more detailed

either way, this will suffer from control issues

just get the cube version, it's worth the cost of the game & console

Yeh I have the GC version its the 1st of the Resident Evil series Ive really enjoyed as it less puzzled based and more action. Reminds me I need to let go of WoW for 5 minutes and play Killer 7.

console->pc ports are, almost universally, crap.

pc->console ports are, almost universally, crap.

would you play CS on console with a joypad?

just because a *port* is crap, doesn't mean the *game* is. i'm not expecting good things from this port, and i'm concerned that it will taint peopels' views of one of the best games of (last) year
