Spent about 10\15 hours over the last few days unlocking Helena and Spartan, which invovles finishing the Story mode on Dead or Alive 4 with every character (16 of them), then another 4 hours to unlock Tengu by beating time attack with everyone. Keep in mind this is all the way through, and having to beat Alpha 152 with everyone.
Last night I was unplugging the modem, knocked the Xbox 360 plug out by accident, put it back in and it booted with the DoA4 disc still in.
Before I'd noticed it was at the title screen, and the save glitch, which wipes you data by loading DoA before you have signed in, so it treats it as the first time you have played the game happened, and removed all my progess. 15+ hours of mostly tedious game play down the drain.
How can any company release a game with such a blatant and annoying glitch? Quality control? Play testing?
I knew about the glitch, but you only have a few seconds if it slips your mind, and to be honest, its beyond sloppy that Team Ninja could let this game go to retail with such a glaring error in the code.
A fix is coming out this month apparently. I really hope that Xbox 360 games don't go the way of PC games, and get released full of glitches and bugs because they can be updated later.
Nobody takes the game out before they turn the console on, so almost everyone who hasn't read about the glitch on a message board before buying it will get hit by this at least once.
Grrrr. How about a bit of play testing *before* you put in on shelves expecting people to pay £40 for it?
Very annoying. Ah well, I can't face doing that again until I've had a big break from the game. Time for some more Gotham 3...
