Well it's clever, and ofc I don't blame them for doing it, this is business

That said I don't think it will worry me, I didn't like halo on the xbox, it was better on the PC when I had a real controller but even then it's still by no means a masterpiece in gaming terms..The best thing about it was (and still is) Red Vs Blue

heh, very very cheeky, whats your betting that it would be "Engineered" to run on older OS's within 1 month of release

Well if it's anything like Halo: Combat Evolved, it's hardly going to be a compelling reason to get Vista... Vista is a more compelling reason to get Vista...

Unless you're running MCE, which is almost Vista anyway....

Crazy...just saw this. It's an interesting ploy, but who except hardcore gamers who just have.to.play halo 2 are going to find it sufficient reason to upgrade OS? Are Microsoft that desperate for selling points? Anyone want to take bets on how few copies are going to sell on release?

Am looking forward to Vista a lot.. but halo2? No thankyou. How on earth is it going to compete with ut2007 and the other PC games that will be out by december?

    Unless they're re-doing it under directX 10..

by the time halo 2 is on the pc, surely halo 3 will be on the 360 anyway?

To me, that just says stick with the 360 for gaming.....

ie why spend hundreds of pounds on pc hardware and official OS licenses just to play a game that has been superceded?

Halo and Halo 2 are probably the most over-rated FPS games ever. I've played both and at no point did either game rise above average. Even something like Time Splitters 2 was much better.

Bog standard run-and-gun stuff thats been done a million times before.

I can see why they done this, very clever

I will probably end up playing this on a 360 or something instead myself, ain't going to ass about with Vista just to get this game running, I will transfer to Vista in my own time. Besides, how long will it take for hacks to come out to run it on other O/S's - specifically NT based ones like XP? There are some clever chaps out there...
