Prisoners use GTA:SA to 'relive' crime

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main...12/ixhome.html

Prison authorities are supplying inmates with an ultra-violent computer game that enables them to recreate their crimes.

Jails across the country allow prisoners to use their wages to buy the controversial game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which involves players engaging in a crime spree. But the Sunday Telegraph has learnt that some inmates are using the game to re-enact their crimes to boast to fellow prisoners.

One prison officer said he saw a prisoner who was serving time for stabbing a victim during a street robbery mimicking the crime on the game.

Edward Garnier, the Conservatives' prison spokesman, said: "Prisoners should be engaged in purposeful activities not trying to relive their past crimes."

A Home Office spokesman said: "The use of high-tech goods, such as PlayStations, as privileges is common practice across many prisons and has been proved to be a successful method of generating a positive response from prisoners."
Sort of giving the GTA series a bad name tbh.

Although, it still doesn't make it a good idea to have prisoners playing video games...
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

It isn't exactly "hard time" if they can sit around playing PS2 all day..
