there was little to no fan fair or hype 4 it coming out......why? i played 1 and it was V original, first game 2 have proper driveable vehicals in game which are of real use and not on rails???? 1 also looked nice and had nice lvls/maps ,but imoh bit too hard 4 its own good. Now back 2 H&D2, i looked on box and there was no screenies??? strange, any1 got it? is it yay or nay?

Its well worth buying, I noticed that with the box also not having any screenies on the back, looks really nice though and this months PC Zone (On the shelves in a few days) have reveiwed it if you are wanting a closer look

Strange that no-one even made the slightest bit of noise about the release, the last I saw was a screenshot a few years ago!

Still looks too much like MOH and too unrealistic though.

What does it play like anyway? (if anyone has actually bought it).

Unrealistic? Nah, this game is much more realistic than MOH, hard as nails too!

Three hits and you're dead, its VASTLY more strategy led than MOH...

It's more of a strategy game than an FPS, tbh, well worth the investment, IF you have the time to put into it and the hair left to pull out...

I'm playing it as the lone soldier, find it much better than the team based strategy side of things. Really enjoying it, extremely tough again though !

I played the original when it first came out and completed it 4 player with some mates. Then later bought the deluxe edition, not long before they released it for free . Not happy.

I'm more of an Operation Flashpoint type of guy myself.

Couldn't get away with Op Flashpoint, my system couldn't run it at the time and I found it a bit hard

It wasn't hard, it just required you to take (a lot) of time about the way you did things, you could never just run into a fight.

Once you realise this, you will walk stright through the game. Plus I only ever play on Veteran for added realism (no 3rd person, no extra tags, etc etc).

I still can't play at max settings with this setup, the requirements are mad and even more so with Resistance installed.

Yeah, Flashpoint is one of the games I've 're-visited' after getting my new proccy... STILL need more oomph in my system... my ageing Ti500 is letting me down.

Can't believe I payed £30 for the original, and £15 for each expansion, and now Play.com has it for £7.49 with both expansions

It's worth checking out http://ofp.gamezone.cz/ for new islands, vehicles, guns, people, etc etc, the list is endless. You can add some really cool things to the game though, and it doesn't interfere with it either.

Make sure you try the map editor too, very easy to use and powerful too.

i didnt like h&d2. The main reason being is, i don't like the way you have to control like 4 men. Thats just me, i prefer it when its just a single bloke going round killing everyone and completing objectives. I played the training and like a minute of the first misson and got bored. Good graphics, movement. loved driving the jeep in the training...and failing the training by killing the instructor

Lambbuster - did you try it in Lone Wolf mode? Single player campaign, but with only one soldier going around killing people and completing objectives

Stick with it- its a truly great game.

As for flashpoint - i think its time to dig out the old disks and download some mods. Any news of a sequel?
