    Wowness (Toca Race Driver 3)

I was just watching a trailer on what vehicles you can use... and for about 5 seconds it showed people racing in those electric scooter things old people ride in!.

    I so want this game!

(I know it's short, but that's all there was of it!)

IMO, this game is ok but it's a bit overrated. £17.99 is about the right price for this game, which is basically TOCA RD2 wth extra cars. It feels more like RD2 with an expansion pack to me. It's a decent enough game, but once you get over the 'wow, look at all the cars' novelty factor you will realise that this is a very average game with a very dated graphics engine (and check those PSone style cut scenes too) and some very very annoying niggles.

Not only is the scottish t**t very repetitive, repeating the same cheesy and pointless lines over and over, there are a free 'bugs' to. For example, brake too late for a corner and smash into the back of car at 200mph then spin off the track and hit a wall, destroying your car and, "Great over taking! You can win this race driving like that!". Then you finish a race and just as you cross the finishing line, the goon says "Great lap, keep it up and you can take this race". Eh? I just finished the race. The best one i had was after flipping a F1000 car onto it's roof on the grass "Driving like that will make your tires go cold". He consistantly manages to ruin the atmosphere of a race.

The rally driving is just worth competely avoiding. The cars all handle like a wet bar of soap.

Still, worth a go for the petrol heads. I am enjoying it enough, but it will be back to GTR soon - with less cars but far more realistic physics and handling because of that fact.

Agree with your last sentiment. I think that I read somewhere that this is yet another codemasters driving game that doesn't have force feedback properly implemented.

    This sort of thing:

Fair enough - explains why they aren't silent and are making a lawnmower noise .

    Cool nevertheless!

i have had this game now for about a week, and tbh im absolutley loving the game, the force feedback with my logitech EX racing wheel is brilliant. my only quibble with the game is that they are still using pancake people!!... but to be honest when you are doing 200mph round silverstone in an F1 car they look just fine

The force feedback is pathetic, unlike GTR which is almost too powerful and realistic at times!
