How well will Oblivion run on my system

Hi to all that read this.

Can anyone tell me how well Oblivion is likely to run on my PC system.

I am new to gaming on PC's so can I ask advice on how to set Oblivion up so that I get a smooth game. I've read some games don't run too well on dual processors. Do you think I'm going to have problems?

Thanks to all you guys out there who have found the time to read this post.

Oblivion has no problem with dual processors, infact it likes it!

But you don't have a good enough graphics card to run it at full whack. It's hard to say, as the 1600 pro is a card with quite odd balance - you might find it runs the fancy effects like grass quite well, but it will certainly struggle with some of the raw power parts. I'd suggest just trying different things until you find a set up that's smooth.

Most likely you'll be able to play it only at 1024x768 at most, without any AA or AF, shadows will probably have to be turned off. Object, tree and item fade will need to be set in the lower third, grass probably about halfway.

I play it on 1280*1024 - medium detail, no AA. On a 9700pro and xp2500. I am sure he'll be fine.

What graphics card do you recommend upgrading to to run Oblivion and future releases.

Cheers for the set up tips.

X1800XL or the 7800GT - both run this game very well, but the 7800GT is a better bargain at the moment. If the 7900GT comes down in price to meet your budget it'll be better still.
