Talking xboxswaps.co.uk - new xbox website

Once we get rolling there will be xbox articles, reviews and news, I'm also hopeing we can get some good traders on the site for swapping of used and new xbox games and eventually I'll be getting cut price games for registered members.

I'm currently working on content and a portal front end for the site, in the meantime make yourself at home, leave me some feedback and ideas. Do you like the design, any ideas are welcome of course.

I'm also going to start a clan/team (fun mainly) for the site so if your interested in running a clan I'll happily provide FTP and website space with email for your clan, or you could just help with the site, reivews, articles or whatever!

Anyway take a look at the inital design and layout and tell me what you think. www.xboxswaps.co.uk

    Cheers!

    Kind words, thank you!

I'm actually working on another skin that is darker so visitors and users can select which colour they wish to use, default (light) or darker official xbox colours.

    Thanks again!

Sorry mate, whatever the content is the website will NEVER succeed with a pre-made PHP-Nuke piece of crap front end like that.

Spend the time to make your own website or mod PHP-Nuke BEYOND recognition.

Nope, its Invision Power Board by the looks of it.

Good luck with it though mate, but ill agree with Bunjis stance - mod it to hell - make it look the least like a "standard" portal as you can

    edit - typos

Thats how he should have said it, not like the site he links to is attractive.

I'll be working on getting all the info into SSI anyway, that way the forum software can hold the data but not display it on the frontpage.

well it is a piece of crap, and you shouldnt take offence to it because you didnt make it. And thats the point. If you want to develop a successful website you need to put your heart and soul in to the design of it aswell as the content.

Sorry for not dressing up what I had to say in sheeps clothing.

Oh and for your information my site is fairly successful so its obviously not crap, and at least its not an out of a cerial packet design like yours.

I know EXACTLY who you guys are, I used to run maximum hardware a few years back, we've swapped news on occassion.

Many people on the internet have no tact and are arrogant because they are safe, yet you meet them in real situation and they'd be on egg shells. Just annoys me that you should be so rude.

Agent had the right approach, to the point but polite, maybe you could learn something from him.

I wasnt being rude. READ WHAT I PUT. THE PHP SOFTWARE YOU ARE USING IS CRAP!

Thats my opinion, its not being rude, and if you think it is then you still have things to learn.

You ran Maximum Hardware? Well that was a fairly rounded well designed site, so why step back in time and use something so rubbish?

I don't want things to start getting out of hand, yes the php standard 'portal' layout isn't very good but I have made alerations and no I'm still not happy but its not the same as the basic layout. I have put alot of work into other aspects.

I will be designing a complete revamp of the frontend which uses ssi/php to take the data from the sql database - same functionally (+more) just a lot more attractive.

I understand where your coming from, it was just abit abrupt.
