    Xbox360 suround sound question

A friend of mine has a Creative PC 5.1 amp/speaker set, which he would like to use with his new Xbox360. I am guessing the Xbox360 has either an Optical, SPIDIF or both, output on the rear. Is there an adaptor for a digital to analouge multi phono type systems? Whats his best option? Got a link?

I guess there must be something, but i am having one of those days where you just cant find what you want

I think you need a SPDIF / Toslink connection on your speakers and a cable, which you use with the HD connector cable
I'm not sure about adaptors really, I very much doubt you can get digital to analogue audio leads (and if you could it'd be pointless) but I could be wrong.
I think the only other way you can have audio is analog by red and white connectors which will plug into your speakers and may provide Dolby ProLogic II
If he only has the 3 connectors for PC you're gonna have to get an adaptor like this
    http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/pr...ONTENTID=10050
but this will only simulate surround sound, it will not give true 5.1 positional audio

    Hope this helps

Basically what he said, you will only get true 5.1 using a pure digital connection, if his amp has a coaxial input, he could use a coaxial to optical adapter to connect to the optical port on the 360 cable.
