    360 refresh rates

I know that a few 360 games require the TV to be set to 60Hz in to play - The Outfit being one of them. I downloaded the demo, and when I tried to launch it I was told that I had to be set to PAL-60 not PAL-50, and to change it under the Display settings. However I'm locked out of the screen format setting because it says they're done automatically with the HD AV cable plugged in. So, I can't change the settings.

I also can't change the settings on the TV itself ( an Acer AL2671W), even though I know it's capable of at least 60 Hz, having used it as a PC monitor at both 60 and 75. It seems that both the 360 and the TV rely on getting their refresh rate settings from whatever's connected to them, so I don't see how I can change it.

    Any ideas?

I'm sure you'll have it sorted by now, but if not...

Just boot the 360 with the AV cable set for SD and change the refresh while in SD mode. Then turn the machine off, flick the switch back to HD, and resume as normal. Bit of a pain in the backside but I think it's the only way.

I think the 360 resets automatically anyway if you flick the switch on the cable, but as temperamental as those things are if I was you I'd take an extra few seconds and switch it on/off yourself when changing the AV lead. Don't want those bloomin' red lights, I've had 'em and it's not fun !

Cheers - I'm away from home at the moment but I'll give it a shot when I return on Monday.
