    UT Vs UT2003

Put Classic UT on my machine last night and I have to say, I found it more enjoyable than ut2k3. Just seems quicker, more fluid and overall more fun.

I don't think its hardware that makes a difference (Ut2k3 plays fine with everything maxed out @ 1024x768).

    Is it just me?

No i agree totally, UT2003 is nearly complete rubbish.

Almost as if they threw everything away from UT and ripped off Quake 3 & Team arena.

Used to play UT would complete it and start again (it was that fun)
Unreal 2003 on the other hand nearly completed it gave up n disgust it was so short and easy..

both games have the same title but both play diff
when ut came out it was awsome i played it day and night
think i had a banshee card at the time and it looked and play so well
but ut2k3 has moved on yes i agree it has q3 elements but so do most games these days
but i wouldnt say its rubbish just thats its evolved just a shame not much
    but its still good fun

I play the original UT loads still, but UT2003 gets boring after about 5 minutes of play.
My mate and I play UT online for hours, there's something about it that makes it gripping.
UT 2003 however is just different, too much like Quake3.

i detest UT2003, it tries too hard to be Q3A. it has none of the flair of the original UT.

Ouch. UT is faster paced ( strangely as u cant wall hop etc ) but ut2k3 outclasses it by a landslide.
for ages i wouldnt play ut2k3 cos ppl said it was like Q3, but the noticed i was and they were being narrow minded cos it p*sses on Q3.

Hmm I played UT2003 for a while, then got very bored of it.
I think UT is a far better game - just seemed much more polished.
Also I have to disagree - Q3 is the original and best, UT2003 is nowhere near as good a game.

    bleh :x
ut2k3 is gives you a greater ability to move around the map, less predictability.
True the weapons need a bit of balancing still, but the boost jump etc make it a better game imho

Just can't get into UT2K3. I really did try but like so many others, It just doesn't feel like UT. It always seems sluggish in comparison to the original.

Im another person who can play the original for hours, but manage half hour of UT2K3 and then get bored

    sluggish as in slow ?
try turning your fov up which is in options/ and make you gun smaller which is in options
makes the game feel faster and also gives you more view/you can also change speed on the mouse which helps

It's not framerate, more feel (if that actually makes any sense). It feels heavier a game than the original UT. Il try that suggestion of yours, see if that makes it any better

Yep, that's what I was looking to try and convey! Responsive!

It could be the engine, detail or purely the motion. I just feels alot heavier
