No downgrader for anything 2.01 or above. You'll have to use the GTA exploit.
Only limited homebrew works with it too.

I don't see how. There's been no discussion of running copyrighted code. Running homebrew is completely legal, as it is based on either original or GPL'd code.

That being said, there is a downgrader for firmwares 2.60 and below. The legality of that piece of software is questionable though, as you need a dump of firmware 1.5 to use it.

benevolent - homebrew is 'home made' software, and is usually referred to for consoles like PSP/NDS/GC etc etc.

As these games/apps are not made or endorsed by sony, you can't run them directly without some kind of software modification - thats an anti-piracy measure put in place to stop you downloading games off the net and playing them.

Homebrew is completely legal afaik, as long as the software wasn't developed using any copywrited code, and that you dont use illegal software to modify your console (I think the downgrader is classes as illegal, but not 100% sure)

personally i CBA with homebrew on consoles like the PSP - it's disjointed hard work, and given the option, i'd like to use a games console to play games - not have to choose

something like the gp32 (or its successors) is nice, since homebrew is more or less official - and cheap enough that you can buy one for the days you feel like sam & max rather than loco roco (without needing to faff with downgraders)
