    Past - Amiga
Present - PS2 (due to selection of games)
    Long term - PC

Amiga had the ability to play games like the Mega Drive and NES, but had better graphics and sound, plus add a HD and it was a PC.

PS2 has the best selection of games and lots of accessories available.

PC Can do everything and is better to game on than any console, though it requires a bit more effort, but will always be my gaming platform of choice due to better graphics, availability of items and net gaming.

Without a doubt for me it would have to be the PC. Multiplayer gaming is all I do now and I know you can do this with Xbox and PS2 now but it's just not the same. You have some many extra things you can download with a PC to make the game better, even mods in some case's.

Living and dying laughing and crying
Once you have seen it you will never be the same
Life in the fast lane is just how it seems
Hard and it is heavy dirty and mean

Have to say PC just because of the Ultima(bar ultima:ascension)/Ultima Underworld and Ultima Online (up until Renaissance came out!) series. Absolutely stunning set of games, kept me going for months/years. I played Ultima Online from when the Europa shard opened up until January 2002, and loved (almost) every minute). Ruined my social life and everything... but poo happens!

Past - has to be C64 for me. That was my first ever computer I had. We got it with a tape drive and lots of educational games (which were actually FUN!). Brilliant piece of kit, and when I grew out of the edugames, games such as Renaissance Warrior, Bionic Commander, Spy Hunter, James Bond: the spy who loved me and Pit Stop 2 kept me well occupied.

That is... until I got a Game Gear!

gameboy. longest lasting format by a long way. failing that consoles are imo generally better for most game genres. not fps, or long lasting games generally, but for pick up and play, and value, you cant beat a console

    Best Retro - SNES

why? - Do i just have to mention Zelda: A Link To The Past.... or any of the Donkey Kong games? then theres Mario and all that...

    Best New Age - Xbox

why? - Well, theres no denying it, Microsoft are buying up alot of the up and coming great new titles for exclusivity on Xbox. This combined with the superb graphical capabilities, in-built hard drive meaning no memory cards needed and THE best DVD player on the market at the moment and you've got a winning console.

Best Long Term System - PC

why? - Well i think we'd all agree that the PC has been and always will be a leading platform in innovation and thoroughly excellent games. Who was first with online gaming? the PC... Who is fully configurable offering the best performance and graphics? the PC....

Best Handheld Console - Gameboy Advance SP

why? - Nintendo have FINALLY got it right. A sleek & stylish console with rechargable batteries and a backlit screen. Add to this an ever-growing selection of true classics appearing and you've got the ultimate handheld.... You'll find all the old SNES classics aswell as a growing number of Sega Megadrive classics appearing on the GBASP in all it's handheld glory.

    Excellent schtuff!

    Ben

Favourite old one: SNES, I curse the day I sold mine The Master System was cool as well - Sonic and Alex Kidd I've got fond memories of Asteriods, Centipede, Missle Command etc on my Atari 65xe as well. Them was the days....

Favourite new one: GC, quality games with that Nintendo touch

I've said favourite rather than best cos 'best' is too subjective.

Played Rebel Strike on the GameCube last night at a friend's house... absolutely superb! That and the new Mario Kart / Zelda bundle for £99.99 is certainly holding the GC from its death.

Apparently the GC outsold both the PS2 and the Xbox on Friday...

For me it has to be

Retro : Commodore 64, my 1st computer with tape deck and breeze block disk drive. Games like Armalyte, Last Ninja series and the other System 3 games, Bionic Commando, Tiger Road and Black Tiger from Capcom

Present : PC just because of the major variations you can get in the games, also really like the Gamecube

Handheld : Gotta be the origional Gameboy, playing things like Wario and Zelda. Spent absolutely hours playing them ! Now you can get the addon for the GC that lets you play all the Gameboy games on you're TV also
