True, but I'm thinking more along the lines of longterm, the PS3 is likely to be around for a similar length of time to the PS2 (depending on how quickly technology advances) and during that time more people will likely have TV's that have HDMI technology. The same will probably go for wireless too.

yes.. I agree.. DS2 is one of the more comfortable controllers.. You'll never have to look at the controller to know where are all the buttons.. and you'll never press the wrong button.. When I used the Xbox controller I fumbled around.. danced around with it.. eventually gave up and returned it to my mate.. I pressed the wrong button oh so many times.. the buttons are small.. when u press A.. u'll get B in the crossfire most of the time, unless you have petite thumbs.. but remember.. you'll need to have the palm of a king kong to hold the original xbox controller.. The S series fixes abit, but u still need hercules palm but gentle women fingers to feel the buttons..

And DS2 is by far the best versus pad ever made... try playing street fighter on xbox the other day.. and I went home with a bruised thumb.. if it cant even survive a simple versus game like street fighter, I cant imagine ppl can play with Guilty Gear X2 on the Xbox.. DS2 only loses slightly to a HORI stick, and my LE Tekken 4 VS stick..

The gamecube one is equally impressive, almost second nature.. never pressed any incorrect buttons. Not the best vs pad.. but loads better than any xbox controller..

No, just in case any ask, I'm no Microsoft hater.. Its just that their stuff were bollocks from the start. Xbox360 changed a little bit of my mind, its better, more natural and work well.. but it offers nothing solid...

I have to say that the PS2 controller is quite good, the only advantage the Xbox had over it was the analogue shoulder buttons. Good for all different sizes of hands. When the PS1 came out all those years ago I thought 'What the HELL is that' when I saw the controller, but now, it's so natural.

Either that or I've played on it so much I've just got used to it

gamecube controller just feels like an extension of my hand - always get every button i want....having said that I find the ps2 controller an absolute nightmare....although even the small xbox controller is to big for my hands......

While I understand the neccesity of the huge price, it seems like consoles are going the way of graphics cards, to insane prices.

the dual shock controller has always been quite good but it always feels so cheap and brittle, like i'm just gonna snap the thing. in my opinion it needs to be a bit chunkier to fit western hands properly.

also, i think that tilting controls is one of the worst ideas ever. everyone say hello to artheritis by the time they're 30....

The tilting's just an optional control method, you don't have to use it if you don't want to. Fairly sure most games won't include it anyway.

That and the whole point of it is that it allows for subtle accurate movement, you know the kind you make with your hands every day?

Hell, typing is going to be far worse for your joints that waving a pad about in the breeze for a couple of hours..

yeah but you're still pressing the same buttons and moving the thumbsticks on the pad that you have always had to do, and now twisting your wrists as well...by logic that has to be worse.

Well, the idea seems to work well.. We'll just have to try it out before we can fairly judge it..

Everything now is just plain groundless discussion..

However, there are a few things that are certain..

    1. As much as some ppl hate the DS2, its a very well accepted design, not flimsy unless you're those ppl who likes to throw the controller all the time..
    2. DS2 is by far the best accepted controller design throughout asia. I know its slightly different here. But I can vouch most asians absolutely hate the Xbox controller.
    3. As much as the Xbox king kong, or the superman S controller fits westerners hands, its by far toooooooo big for any asian hands.. yes.. even koreans.. However, Sony's DS2 doesnt fit THAT well into westerners hands, but at least it works well enough..
    4. Not all consoles are built for FPS ground up.. If we can have a cross-platform versus or racing game, Xbox owners can have ur Xbox controller, I'll have my DS2.. lets see who's thumbs bleed first to complete a juggle combo in GGX2.. DS2 works well for any other games..
    5. Why would you want a controller to weigh heavy? I seem to remember, light does not translate to cheap..

Well, at least thats what I think..

In my opinion, the new controller does look better that the original PS2 controller. It certainly is miles better than the horrendous boomerang they tried to bring out before. :O

AS someone said before, how do you know the boomerang isnt the best controller since the spin dial? Theres enough stagnation in the games, without making the hardware the same all the damn time. Consoles are about innovation, not sticking a few new shiny bits on and rereleasing the same old crap.
