So steam just burst into life and started decrypting Sin Episodes, I guess this means it's ready to play? I'll report back when its done and I've had some action!

I've played it for an hour or so and to be honest, not overly impressed.
I am however feeling pretty groggy so that may effect my view, but I stuck the game on hard and have run through the first few missions without too much difficulty.
Still the graphics are nice, but I was hoping for more interaction with the charchters.
ho hum.
Played it quick before a raid last night, seemed great fun with the corpses flying and blood squirting just like the original. Big tits, big guns. Just what I need between repeated deaths in Blackwing Lair.
So it seems my copy has something up with it and started back downloading again at 57% percent!. Even though yesterday it said it was done
It's now just connecting and disconnecting at random times while transfering no more than 2-4kb/s then stopping
It took me all week to download it as it was due to horrible speeds. Is there anyway of helping Steam attain more pleasing speeds?
This is driving me insane ffs.
Just started downloading this last night - Im new to steam, hated the idea of it but I had some time to kill, the missus was down the gym and I was out of beer so figured I'd have a go. Im on a 4Mb pipe and I was really surprised at how slow steams download speed is. I guess there are no UK steam servers then and we're having to pull from the US?
Anyway, Sin Episodes, with a touch of cloth my download should be done by the time I escape work so I look forward to blasting away on that.

I routinely get 400 KB/s from Steam on Bulldog 8 Mb.Originally Posted by noTHINGface
If you look around on the Steam forum there is a config file you can delete to get Steam to re-evaluate which content server it is connecting to.
Thanks - I'll check that out. I decided to work from home and had a quick blast on SIN, not bad in a doesnt really bring anything new to the table but not a bad shooter non-the-less kind of way. Play once and forget.Originally Posted by toolsong

So I managed to finally play it and after 3 hours of varied ups and downs I completed the first episode. Its pretty fun mostly, nothing amazingly new but thats not a bad thing. Once or twice I got bogged in 3 or 4 areas which was probably caused by playing on extreme but apart from that I enjoyed it. Very much like FEAR without slow mo. Only 3 guns aswell but they are three lovely shooters. Elexis looks like something from my dreams tbh she's gorgeous. Anyways some piccies for you all.....

so is it worth the cash then?
+ graphically your screen shots dont lok that great when compared to hl2 is that down to the game or your computer?
Probably down to scren resolution. I was thinking the same tbh.
Got it running at 1600 x 900 4 x fsaa and 8x aniso Everyything set to High
Running an Opty 144, 2GB Twinmoss Twister, and XFX 7800GT
If you have a widescreen monitor set the res to something like 1600 x 900 mines at 1680 x 1050, Then use the Elexis pic as a background Full Screened. Looks a million times better. Guess its te Jpg compression. I used the ingame screenshot
Looks same as HL2 tbh.
Edit: some of the stuff just needs to be in game and moving
I dont use subtitles Quite fun to play, not as spectacular as HL2 but worth the cash, u get the original sin too for good measure, I love a bit of retro FPS so not bad reallyOriginally Posted by directhex
Just cant wait for HL2: Episode 1
Wow, that was a little short, and yet another one of the well-trodden plotlines.
Was kind of funny how Jessica is basically invincible and never runs out of ammo, though.
HL2 engine still looks nice, though the loading times aren't as good as F.E.A.R. or Oblivion on my rig.

Just got round to finishing it off - the pleasures of working from home. Liked the 'voice over bloopers' at the end - made me laugh... Just a little.
