    This is superb. Might not be to everyones tastes as it's not too PC, but Robin Williams is fanstastic at describing this game to all the waiting press and public ;

    Quite comfortably no, but innovative? Yes. What exactly is the point of the game, is it meant to be some kind of tamagochi style game? Excuse me, but I lost my concentraition and I started doing something else with the video running in the background

    Meh, I don't it gets my vote for originality

    it's a combination of genres. starts off at a simple single-cell level, and you attack stuff with your creature before evolving it, etc, until you begin to develop civilization - at that point you move to simcity, then civ-style play. eventually you colonise your whole planet, and take to the stars to harass other species.

    Yeah - first levels are akin to pac-man. Go round chomping lower lifeforms and then as Hexxy has pointed out it starts getting into one where you manage ecosystems and all that business.

    There's certainly a lot of scope for the kind of stuff you can do with it, and it's moved on a hell of a lot since GDC 2005.

    This looks like an awesome game with so many possibilities as well as great fun. Im liking the upgrades you get towards later levels, looks like lots of mayhem
    loving the commentary too - who knew Robin Williams was an avid gamer!

    I like the idea of the game, initially it seems like a waste of time but I can imagine it will be very addictive.

    The real danger with it is, as with all sandbox-style games (like Black and White) that there isn't quite enough structure to it, and so players end up just farting about with a few bits here and there but never actually get to experience all the game has to offer because they're not forced/guided into doing so.

    Does that make sense? I just got really bored of B&W in the end because the objectives and constraints were too slack.

    as wright has explained, it's a reverse-sandbox game - i.e. the more you play, the sandboxier it becomes, whereas usually it's the other way around. to start with, it's kinda classic arcadery - midway it turns simcityish then civvy, and only towards the end does it turn into a sandbox
