    Talking Mario Kart:Double Dash

Bought this for the missus for her birthday yesterday...

    What an awesome game!

Its such simple pick up and play gameplay, but with the depth of more serious racers like GT.

The other half and the eldest kiddie played it for 2 hours solid!

I finally got a look in once the kids were in bed and its great fun. The battle modes are great, with the traditional balloon bursting, plus a tag game and a bomb the hell out of each other one...

    TOP SANTE!

Its a good game yes, no denying that, but for me it doesnt make good use enough of the GameCube processing power. personally it looks like an N64 game that's been ported to the GC.

    Diddy Kong Racing anyone?

Wow, I wish I could get away with buying my girlfriend Gamecube games for presents. You sure this was not like Homer buying Marge a bowling ball which has his own name printed on it and the holes drilled to his finger size?

I am more concerned with how it plays that how it looks, but from what I have seen I think the graphics look a lot better than a N64 game. I have not played it though so the pics I have seen might be misleading.

I read on Game Central (on channel 4 teletext) that some people had come up with a way to play Gamecube games via broadband that are designed for use when connecting Gamecubes together. Anyone else heard of this/used it? I do not have broadband so it will never happen for me

im tempted to get a game cube just for that, mario kart on N64 is probably the 1 game ive played more than any other. Can you still have 4 way battles or are you restricted to 2 karts and 4 people?

Got the game on Saturday, had 6 people over yesterday and it was great! Its one of the simplest games to pick up and play that ive ever seen, but it has a surprising amount of depth to it.

Gameplay is varied and there is definitely enough new additions. The whole double driver issue is certainly not a gimmic, in fact its just as great playing as the back seat player than as the driver. The race tracks are well designed and offer a good balance of challenging turns and obstacles. Battle mode is brilliant with four players, although I am a little dissapointed with the arenas, a few more wouldn't have hurt and Im certain the cube could handle some more complex ones.

Graphics are fine, I really dont see the point in people complaining about them, they were never going to be groundbreaking, gameplay is where this game is king.

A must own if you have a cube, and if not go and buy one 'tis only £80!

I've never liked the Mario Cart type games, play them for an hour then just think its boring. I rented Diddy Kong on the 64 but it was the same thing.

I prefer the 3rd person stuff on the consoles in all honesty, things like Res Evil, PNO3, Tomb Raider (In its day !!!)

    Not sure about this one...

If I think Super Mario Kart (SNES) rocked the world, and MarioKart 64 was a bit average, what do you think I'd think of the GC one?

I may be slightly bias in my opinion, as i have only play the N64 mario kart, but it is so good

The only crap track i think is Rainbow Road, as it takes soo damn long to do......but it is exactle to do a Mushroom Cup in about 15mins

When i saw this on the advert i really wanted to get a Game Cube, but as i only have £47 i cant

    Will

btw, anyone with N64 Zelda Ocanrina of time, if you want to sell pls coudl you PM me ty

Yep, its definitely one of the best as it is actually quite large.

I think my favourite race track is DK mountain or possibly the Wario track.

I'm taking my copy back to the shops today to swap for a new one. There's a bug in this copy.

The missus beat me 3-2 in battle mode last night... there MUST be something wrong with the game...
