    game server rental

Does anyone know of any good reliable game server companies that offer low cost, fast speed and reliable servers (i know i am asking a lot)?

    thinking of doing a 20 slot cs:cz or cs:source with teamspeak/ventrillo.

I know you're not an admin of the server, but do you know HEXUS already have a CS:S server?

It's currently hosted by efrag, and their service is pretty good imo. They have very good customer service and since we've had the server at the beginning of the year, it's rarley been down. Game servers really don't come cheap though - I just had a quick look on efrags pricing page, and it seems that for the cheapest decent 66 tick CS:S server, you'll be looking at £474.61 for the year. I've not looked into the prcing of servers for quite sometime, but I think generally, there pretty much the same price.

I don't know how low, low-cost is for you, but I think if you're going to rent a server, you may be better off with some friends chipping in too .

Details for the HEXUS server are in my sig .

yup i did know hexus has their own server and i had played on it a few times.

the reason i ask, is that me and a few friends actually rent a cz server for a while but the company will start to go in a different direction and will not rent their servers out anymore. i was wondering if anyone know of any good places to rent cz or cs:s servers.

thanks for the tip on efrag - i will check them out !

If your in the UK try Jolt there fairly cheap, also the same server setup mentioned by ajbrun is only £405.60 per year But get TeamSpeak from someone else, otherwise you pay over the odds.

Oh and I know it says for "Clans" but we rented a TFC server for a non clan server, never had any problem.

We had a jolt server last year, and I think there was a problem with it, but I can't remember exactly what. I think it was probably a high ping problem. Out of efrag and jolt, I'd definatly got with efrag.

I've administered quite a few gaming servers, from CSS to BF2 to CoD2 etc.

I'd recommend Jolt servers, they have a variety of packages available and I'm sure you'll be able to find one that meets your hardware and price requirements.

They've also recently upgraded the majority of their servers, and had a price drop. If ever there was a good time, now is probably it.

I like the games2xs server we have as I have access to the web control where we can swap and change the server from say CS Source to Hidden and other games and then back again without even messing about.

A simple - click - load and volia I get to play most games on our server

    Yeah good ol' barrysworld

Saying that I used to spend loads of my time either on the BW servers or the BT ADSL "tests" servers that BT implemented to "test their adsl" lines back in 1999 and then I moved to our own clan servers and stopped playing on publics.
