Depends on the game, for example button bashing games like Lord of the Rings, Return of the Kings was really a hell of a lot of button bashing on the mouse so I used a PS1 gamepad with a PS controller port to USB adapter (£6.99 from play.com)
Woohoo now Assistant Manager!
Nearly every console pad has a usb pc adaptor these days so pick your favourite as console pads are infinetly better than any of the pc pads out there i reckon. I to like the above post use a ps2 adaptor works a treat.
Get an Xbox360 wired pad. Best pc gaming pad I've ever had
thanks guys, mite look into getting one, mayb just an adaptor as i have playstation2 controlers
hmm, might have to get a 360 pad, been using the play ps2 thingy for ages now, but my ps2 pads are beaten up really badly, will ge a 360 pad and see what i think
does the xbox 360 pad, need a convertor
Used both a logitech wingman and a saitek 2500.
I prefer the rumble of the wingman, but the saiteks buttons are better. The wingman hasn't lasted very well.
Great for games like LOTR: return of the king, and arcady racers like Need for speed
no. and get windows drivers from http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...XBOX360Eng.exeOriginally Posted by Max Tractor
I use an Xbox pad.. converted it to USB. Works great.
I only use it on certain games though... I love my keyboard and mouse for FPS games.. but say maybe a racing game I would prefer the pad (I have a wheel though so I would just use that).
I have seen some that are "for WINDOWS PC" from hereOriginally Posted by directhex

Is the controller that comes with the xbox 360 usb?
What type of conversion did you have to do, and what did you need to get it going in windowsOriginally Posted by XA04
Thanx both for input
I think the only difference between the 'for windows' ones and the standard 360 ones are a drivers cd that it comes with for xp. You can easily download those drivers though on the link above.
Just plug the xbox360 pad in and windows auto update downloads the driver.
There's lots of ways.., the way I did it was just chop the end off the Xbox control, and the end of a USB cable - attach the same coloured wires together (there is an extra wire in the xbox control but it's not important), then install these drivers:Originally Posted by Max Tractor

It works just as if it was made for the PC
