StarCraft is fantastic for LAN.
the original UT with freezetag was always a good laugh. System Shock 2 Co-op is the bomb

Mechwarrior 4 I never managed to do it cause my mates were rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishrubbish but that should be pretty fun
I liked Halo over LAN, thats alot of fun.
As for PC, if you like strategy; RA2, Total War, heard Civ IV is pretty un if you like TBS
Not got much experience with LAN shooters but I suppose anything that uses alot of teamwork.
UT2k4, or if u like the co-op team shooter thing, Terrorist hunt on Raven Sheild is always fun on LAN.
