    Oblivion multiplayer mod

    From the website:
MultiTES4 is my attempt at an Oblivion mod/add-on that, you guessed, adds multiplayer to this awesome game. I started the work on this project around the 7th of May, 2006. It's come a long way, and has a long way to go, but with perseverance and a little luck, it'll go a long way. At the moment, MultiTES4 consists of three components: A client application, a server application, and a Oblivion 'esp' modification file. All these combined with a little luck (and a whole heap of code) and voila, we have multiplayer!

All I can say is WOW!!!

I'm playing the game through again with my second character and now my house mate has a "good" pc he wants to play. This will be perfect to show him the ropes, etc, etc...

    You Legends you!

W00t, that sounds awesome, gonna keep an eye on this to see how it turns out. Extra player characters would certainly help in some missions

I lost interest in this game the second time I played it

I was hoping for so much more too, ah well, I guess it's the curse of having to follow up a hugely popular and amazing game with something better, and actually ends up worse

They are going to have to be pretty tight on the level req's and stuff like no third party esp's etc. All it will take is someone with a txt file full of console cheats that they can load in one go to ruin the experience. Shouldn't be too difficult, just have a door with a script on that doesn't let anyone through with anything over level 100.

Great idea though, but i wonder whether it will be stomped by BethSoft?

That my friend is a mod with a seriously awesome amount of potential... at the mo cheating etc. shouldnt be a problem as its only 2 players (presumably you would play with a friend rather than anything else) so no probs there...

A question though, any idea how far you could push this mod in time? ie. if it could be expanded to allow people to create persistant worlds of some sort (this however would require some way of disabling the console etc.)... cause THAT would rock! at least until Neverwinter Nights 2 comes out

Umm.. i'd cheat against most of my friends if i played OB with them

Although you mention console - this mod will be strictly PC only i imagine, simply because a lot of work will be done in the construction editor.

Reading this thread has just made my year....thank you!

I haven't played for a while as i got bored after about 50 hours of ingame time, the novelty wore off. But this mod will definetly reawake my lust of Oblivion.

Honestly, don't get your hopes up. The stage it's at at the moment is the same thing I thought of knocking up for Morrowind fairly quickly, ie this bits quite easy. Getting beyond this to any meaningful interaction between players is much much harder.
