    battlefield 2 cheaters

Ive just discovered the most retarded exploit of the ranking system in bf2 turns out there are multiple servers with knife & pistol name with people rez killing each other into the score of 300-500 and unfairly getting the hard badges of pistol and knife now i ask them isnt what they are doing is cheating on a ranked class server and i get immediately kicked by admin (explanation stat padding:-p ) isnt this just sad? is there any way to report those cheating guilds / servers ?

I wouldn't worry about it too much; the ranking system is about getting more badges for yourself to get weapons and improve your stats, not to worry that others are getting more than you. At the end of the day, does it really matter? You don't need to participate if you feel that strongly, and you can always join another server.

Finally, and to answer your question, I doubt much could be done; I doubt that's breaking the rules per sé.

EA are taking action against stat padders - if and when they can catch them. They have reportedly banned players or reset their stats for stat padding when found out - which is fairly obvious to them if they look at the stats =)

It's not totally pointless for the padders though - they are not doing it for the badges, but for the unlocks. If you think about it they way they do it is the easiest way to get all the unlocks - lots of points very quickly. However it is a totally boring excercise, and totally undermines the stats system.

Because of players like these we can never reach the top of the leaderboard for example - the top places will always be held by padders ;/

This problem exists in any online game with a persistent none-decreaseing ranking system though - in world of warcraft players cheat the system by buying gold or paying to have characters levelled. In everquest people buy items and money, in CS/CSS people turn on bots and set stats so that the bots count - getting massive scores just from killing bots.

It's one of those things that you can either get really worked up about, or just decide to ignore it and get on with your game. Those people have wasted their money and their time, no need for you to do the same

Its the hackers that I really hate. Aimbots and UAV hacks are the worst and are really hard to cathc them out using. Until punkbuster catches up we are at there mercy.

    www.bfroe.com

I have reported people before, with punkbuster screenshots from one of our servers showing them using hacks. Not one has been reset/banned.

That's on single player - no way he's be able to get that online without detection.

    Re: battlefield 2 cheaters

I equally am disgusted with the cheap Battlefield players out there. I today lost my second hard worked soldier to hackers and glitchers. This server i went to (64.34.202.26:16567) was streaming badges and maxing-out all players who joined it. These kinds of things, including cheap jet and heli pilots are disgusting. It takes a lot of serious honest hours to develop some of those medals. All for nothing. So you can have cheating losers run the game. over.

    Re: battlefield 2 cheaters

If you want to play BF2 as it's meant to be played without all the stat padders and hackers there is an excellent UK based tournament. They have battles every weekend and practices during the week. When you've played properly as part of an organised team you'll never want to go back to the public servers.
Excellent fun. I'd still be there but unfortunately I don't have enough time anymore.

    Re: battlefield 2 cheaters

I'm still playing it along with 2142, but after clocking up over 1500 hours with both i can finally say things are getting a little tiring, BF2 has definatley more life in it than 2142 but both now are getting long in the tooth. It's mainly lack of time though what with family/work/music/ps3.
