Angry Need for Speed Most Wanted

Does anybody else play this game but completely hate certain aspects of it?

For example, the gameplay is great, driving the cars around, making it quicker etc,

BUT the bits I hate are the "Blacklist" - complete 7 races, complete 6 missions, and get 12million bounty from the police, then race the other guy who for no apparent reason is quicker than you even though you've the fastest car available, and they never crash,

I also completely and utterly hate to death the flipping drag race feature - this is NOT racing - this is utter rubbish, press left, to go into the left lane, go round a corner hit a car, and you're totalled, the other guy never totals his car, and if you go too slow he beats you. If you go quicker than him, you total your car, I HATE IT SO MUCH I WANT TO SMASH MY KEYBOARD TO PIECES!!!

I am at the 4th blacklist guy and I am tempted to never ever play this game again and sell it on ebay simply because I never ever want to see the game again in my entire life.

oh and what's with a FIAT PUNTO being quicker than the fastest Lamborghini on the planet?!?!?!

i got to blacklist number 2 and just gave up, i REALLY hate the fact you have to get the bounty, ok so outrunning the police is fun for about 2 mins, then it gets really boring

Agreed x1000 I would have liked it much more if cops were only there say once every blacklist race and you didn't need bounty.

I done a review of this for HEXUS at the start of the year and found it pretty easy until you reach around blacklist 4.

I used a Renault Clio with everything maxxed out on it, was really fast and looked awesome. Thing that actually got me was doing the police stuff once I had completed the races. Some of them are so hard and it is so easy to lose concentration for a second and go over a spike strip. Sometimes you could be doing the evasion for over 30 mins so it was annoying but addictive.

If you are frustrated now wait till you beat blacklist 1 and get the BMW back. I got used to driving my Clio but once you beat Razor you hop in the BMW and have to escape the police in it. Thing is though I personally found the BMW to handle quite poor after using a small car and it wasn't as fast as my souped up Clio.

You have to escape under a condition 6 (yep, for the last level the bar is raised to 6 instead of 5) so every patrol vehicle and everything else they can throw at you is out there. After 5 mins you get a call telling you about a bridge that is out and your car is powerful enough to jump it. You then have to get to the bridge and jump it to finish. I spent days trying to do it and finally managed to do it out of luck and frustration.

Overall, it is a fun game though. I still go back to it occasionally now and have a mess about on the time trial events etc. For some bizarre reason though, when I go back into the story mode, even though I have completed it I have to do the BMW bit again. Must have forgotten to save it unfortunately after the credits rolled.

I think it's definitely a love/hate thing - I really really want to complete it - but I have become bored of playing it and hate the drag-strip race.

Maybe I should ignore the blacklist for a while and do the other challenges

Oh yeah, if anyone still plays it, the car that's by far best handling and is very quick is the maxxed out Evo VIII.

I loved lots about the game... I was annoyed at drag racing too though, I enjoyed it in NFSU and NFSU2, but they have made it really difficult and annoying in Most Wanted.

Infact, I may install it again, I've still got about 20 challenges to finish for 100% (not the career.. 'challenges' under the main menu).

i played it for about 2 weeks then sold it to someone at work, its just so repetitive.

i used to love the drift racing on NFSU2 but its just none existant on this game, id rather them scrap the police crap and have some better racing types

The evo 13? wow, thats a new one,, how do you unlock it I beat it all bar the very last bit with a punto, although the police challenges are much easier in a gallardo, you dont need to do any steering to break road blocks, it pretty much just scoots straight underneath them

Had my 100% career for a couple of months now, and only recently discovered the backroom (which tbh, did absolutely nothing to my carerra gt...)
Personally, I love the police chases....I didn't find them difficult as long as I was in a suitable car (the 13min chases can get a little intense - that and the heat level 7 in the Ford GT challenge, but it's something different.
Agreed that drag's can get a bit silly...much worse compared to NFSU1/2, but still not toooo bad...I normally try to rag the car for the first couple of hundred metres, then downshift and try to cruise at a speed where the car's easily controllable...but it doesn't always work
