    Good games for Xbox live

Hi all, anyone have any suggestions for what xbox games are worth playing on Live? I have just bought an xbox off ebay cheap (my first console in years) and was wondering what would be worth buying. I have just purchased pgr2, unreal championship 2 and Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow to go with it as the games it came with I don't think are particularly great.

I was pleasantly surpised how cheap the games and console are tho. The 3 games above cost me under £12 including postage and the console i bought for £40 with 5 games and picked up locally. Anyway thats besides the point.

Also where is the best place to purchase a Live subscription? Also are there loads of little kiddies spoiling the online experience or is it actually a real blast.

Apart from bf2 I am really bored of my PC and cant afford the upgrade it needs. Anyone here play on Xbox live? suggest some games and if i get them we should meet up (online obviously - unless there is a female presence on the forums? although I always thought this place was a sausage fest.............much as i love you all, its true!!! )

Anyone I think i'm beginning to rant now - work is REAL boring at the moment, so hexus is my first port of call

You might just be able to go into Account management settings and input your credit card details instead and your subscription will be activated.

Alternatively, you can buy a subscription of Ebay and they'll probably just mail you the code, or get one from any games shop.

Have a look on Xbox.com, join the forums and you'll see what everyone is playing. Some of the games you'll struggle to find people online, so maybe worth sticking with the big titles.

Halo 2 is always fun online! I'd recommend that. If you get it, give me a shout and I'll talk you through it online.

i'll see if i can find a cheap copy on ebay then. Are there any other games you play online Steven. Is Forza any good online? Also do you reckon xbox live is worth the subscription?

Best £40 you'll ever spend, unless you know Toothless Vera the hooker.

Actually how much is it now? Seriously it's great. I've got a Xbox 360, so I'm on that and only go on the old Xbox for reviewing.

So really I only play Pro Evo 5 and Halo 2 of the Xbox games on the 360. Plenty of other peeps out there though!

Forza is excellent online, plus the community are quite helpful at giving you tips if you're new.

I was looking at getting burnout 3 take down. Played the first one on the gamecube and thought it was really good. Do many of you guys actually play on Live often?

Steven, are there any really good xbox360 games out yet? I am thinking of getting one when gears of war comes out (whenever that is!!!) look it up on youtube.com They have some great E3 gameplay videos on there

Especially make sure you check this one out. WOW THIS GAME WILL KILL MY SOCIAL LIFE

If you like racing Moto GP 06(http://gaming.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=6034) is superb and Forza.

Oblivion (http://gaming.hexus.net/content/item...ch=oblivion)is the best game I've played in a long time, if you like RPG's.

    GRAW (http://gaming.hexus.net/content/item...=ghost%20recon) is good too.

I reckon the best is yet to come though. Gears of War (http://gaming.hexus.net/content/item...ars%20of%20war) looks fab.

    Hey bud.

Just like you i can no longer to afford upgrades really so I bought a 360 as well. Best purchase of this year

My personal preference to great online games are Project Gothem 3 and Fight Night 3 and Table Tennis.

Table Tennis may sound a little boring, I though the same thing, but its actually really really fun and really fast paced. A nice refreshing multiplayer game. (also its half price of most 360 games) And most opponents i manage to come across online are cool players who arent sore loosers/winners. Though you do tend to get alot of singing and abusing kids with PGR, but once their blocked you never have to worry about them again which is a great feature of the 360.

And yes Kempez, Gears of Wars is going to rule

I quite enjoyed Jade Empire on the X-box (plus you're able to play it on the 360 via the B/C update) not really an on-line game, but it's quite absorbing none the less. it's simular to KOTOR (not supprising as it's from the same developers) only with a better combat system.
Halo 2 is worth getting (as is Halo 1, although the multiplayer on Halo 1 is limited to local network unless you use the PC patch to fool it)
Unreal championship 1 is pretty good too.

I've found PGR3, Top Spin 2 and Table Tennis all to be brilliant online.
