what is going to be new about it then? so far the first was best and then it went rubbish
I'll probably be waiting for a demo again of this one.
New things include 'wingman' commands for fellow drivers, more co-operative driving etc. To be honest that sounds like a horrible gimmick.
Maybe some gimmicks do make for a better game, but as far as the driving ones go they tend to put me off more than help - I hated the speedbreaker in NFS:MW as well.
I feel the speedbreaker bit fairly enjoyable.. I know it does more damage than helping you out.. but its a nice touch to a very enjoyable game..
OKAY fine.. maybe the AI is a 'little' cheating at times.. but hey, arcades ARE supposed to be cheating..
Recall those Contra days? Bosses are so uberly cheating its unbelievable..
Me want Ultrabook
There doesn't seem to be much of an improvement on the last version to warrant the price tag in my opinion really.
I wish big game developers like this would release better quality games rather than rehashed updates every year ( FIFA anyone? )
Graphics looks like they have been improved.
I hope they put drag racing back to the same style as NFSU 1 & 2. I hope they put drifting back on too.
Did the other NFS games give you team mates and let you give them commands to help you out by giving you a slipstream etc?Originally Posted by dancingtornado
Drifting is back in carbon, but apparently it's a bit different.
Thing is, in games like this I want to be able to drive the way I want. I don't want to have to use slow-mo feature to win, I don't want to have to call in a team mate. Now you may be able to win without useing these new gimmicks, but the game will probably be balanced to try and encourage their use.

drifting was pretty good up until NFSU.. the drifting in NFSU2 was not really that fun.. nothing really work other than the handbrake.. even the simplest lift-off drift doesnt work.. its a seriously washed down version IMO (not that the first one was any good either.. but at least lift-off drift still works)..
The closest drift experience I ever got was probably from GT Legends.. and from a drift tuned 450bhp Modena in GTR.. Where all the tricks actually work pretty well (though not very well).. but at least they still work..

Hehe I never use the handbrake for drifting in NFSU2 - it slows me down two much. Best way seemed to be to start swinging around a corner then just cut the throttle for an instant before putting it back on full again.
