    It's gone to the Hospital....

    My X360 that is

Was shipped off yesterday and arrived there today.

Hopefully, the surgery won't take long and I'll have her back soon.

Process is quite good so far, called M$ on Tuesday night at 8:30 and I had the shipping details the next morning ready to call UPS to arrange collection.

Lets hope the next stage is quick and I get a delivery soon enough.

    Graphics corruption.

I'd been getting glicthes/artefacs for a while and just recently I started to get lots of "Dirty Disc" errors, even with brand new games etc.

So I called em up, and the rest as they say, is history.

They were pretty good actually, told me to keep the HDD and just send the console (even tho it's a premium and the hdd is part of the package).
I took the faceplate off as well as it's a Ltd Ed PGR3 one and I didn't want it going missing etc.

Sounds like a bad issue there mate. Fingers crossed they sort it all out quickly.

BTW - mine's not sounding too healthy as well, sometimes the audio on Burnout Revenge stops on the loading sections and the disc restarts up, yet other times it continues to play while loading.

I dunno whether it's the console, the game or just bad coding.

Shipping should be covered by the warrenty.
I had the shipping details the next morning ready to call UPS to arrange collection.
And also the fact they gave him shipping details, implies that MS have an arrangement with UPS.

I have constantly been impressed wtih microsoft on the warranty issues Even with small, relativly cheap hardware (usually mice) they have always been great. Normally if I have a problem with my mouse or KB a quick phone call is all it takes, and I have a new one at my door via a friendly UPS man, who gives me a new one and takes away the old one..

We might have 'issues' with some of their software, but microsoft are good with their warranty procedures.

The reason they tell the user to keep the hard drive is because of all the saved games etc on there - as well as all the possible live arcade games that possibly could have been downloaded on the users profile.

Normally Microsoft only ask for the console (on its own) or if they think it power related the power pack.

Usually you phone them up they try and determine what the problem is over the phone, from there they send you a box to pack the console into with a reference number and usually you have to call there courier and they will come and collect the console...

Only reason I know is because in Feb this year I had similar issues with my console - however it was likely to take around 10 days or so for the console to be returned therefore I decided to take it back to the retailer and get a replacement instead

    They don't send boxes anymore.

You have to pack it up yourself, and print out the prepaid UPS label.

I had an email this morning saying they've recieved it and that they wil email me again soon.

    Bought it from Dixons online.

tbh, just sending back the console was easier than packing up the lot, swapping it for a new bundle etc was worth it.

Otherwise I would have had to swap the entire bundle and loose the hdd etc.
