    Problem with Setup.exe

Hi everyone, this is my first post and unfortunately im starting with a problem.
Ive been playing a game called Battlefield 2 and installed a 1.4 beta patch which was ok but not many servers where running it. Because of this I decided to uninstall the patch but couldnt so I started deleting game files and uninstalling the game and basically got myself in a right kerfuffle. What its boiled down to is after a system restore i can no longer load the game nor can I uninstall it, when I try I get the message... 'Setup.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.'...This also apears when trying to remove via the add and remove programmes option from the control pannel. I have no idea what the problem is or how to deal with it so any help would be gratefully recieved that wouldnt involve reloading the recovery disc.

    Many thanks, Swordy.

Might wana try over in the gaming forum!

However, try putting the install disc in, and loading the setup, up. Try re-installing if you can load the setup.

You have probably deleted either one of the uninstall files or some of the files that setup needs to delete for verification or validation reasons if you have then really you can either issue this problem to ea themselves (apparently terrible at dealing with issues) or delete all of the game files at all their locations and then delete all of the registry files related to the game. If you go for ea say and i will leave it at that, or if you want to do the second then say and i will have a look where all the files are for me (i have bf2 and special forces) and then take you through completely manually installling to the point where the installer will let you start a fresh install.

Thanks guys, gamer ive already tried deleting all the game files and registry files related to the game I ran a search and deleted all locations. I to have special forces and the two add ons.....euro force and armoured fury, I asumed these went with the game as I couldnt find any files on them. I dont think I missed any but please let me know of any locations I might of over looked.

    Cheers swordy.
