    Games Workshop stuff

Who actually plays the board games.
Been sorting out some of my old stuff and I've got a shed loads of figures and a few tanks/dreadnoughts etc that I could do with getting rid of.

I never actually liked the board games, I just liked the little models but I love "Space Hulk: Vengeance of the Blood Angels", easily one of my favourite games of all time.

So good in fact that I painstakingly made two videos and a failed video as well...

    http://www.theblista.com/videos/grandhall01.avi <---[ Original video I made. ]

    http://www.theblista.com/videos/grandhall02.avi <---[ Remake ]

The level used was "Grand Hall" and at the time before I discovered "Microsoft Virtual Machines"

I used a seperate HDD to boot Windows 98 that was on it to run and play it, I then used an ancient version of Fraps to record the footage (Fraps 1.9D) and I then switched back to my HDD with Windows XP to edit and apply music and effects with Premiere and some 3rd party overlay effect filters.

I started off playing Space Hulk then just got into the painting side of things back in the day I actually had patience and a steady hand, got some quite rare models, Terminator Marines in power armour, some earlier Mk power armour marines, some GD Models, the original assassin model and a few others.

Pah, you guys took the easy route! I painted the Epic scale models which were only 6mm in size! The titans were big, I'll give you that. I must've spent hours assembling and painting those models. I don't think I even had two full games!

I don't think I got a chance to form an opinion. I preferred painting the models to playing the game.

I don't think I ever played a game, I just liked painting them as I found it relaxing. I don't think I've even got a complete army as I'd just buy/paint the models I found interesting.

I currently have half a Fallen Dark Angels army (Cypher, D.A. Captain, 2 squads of Marines, 1 squad of terminators and a dreadnought), half a Necron army (2 Necron Gods, 2 squads of necron warriors, 2x wraiths, a destroyer & a heavy destroyer), a squad of Eldar striking scorpions with an exarch, a few chaos marines (converted) and I just started on a tyranid army a few months back (2 carnifex assembled but not yet painted).

I have tons of stuff at home, probably all well out of date. A space marine army, an epic SM army, squats and all sorts! So much stuff. I think it goes quite well on ebay!

Well, I had a massive and well painted marine army (3000 points IIRC) and a Eldar army, both with heros, dreds and other vehicles.

I had no use for it, hadnt played it in years, so I gave it to my girlfriends brother who played. 6 months later I was round at their house and in his room... I noticed these small mounds of black paint in the shape of Space Marines... He had "Chaosed" both armies and repainted them black, filling in all the detail and generally ruining the many many hours I had put into painting them. Needless to say i was less than happy, would not have given him them if I had known he would do that.
