Just bought myself a DS Lite

Just bought myself a DS Lite with SMB and Sonic rush.

I already owna DS, I had £130 of vouchers from work so I thought I would upgrade "for free".

First impressions ver very good, screen brightness difference is quite pronounced. The smaller form factor does look a lot better however i am not convinced yet its any more comfortable to hold than the DS.

SMB is retro gaming at its finest, I have only played through the first level so far and I am impressed, had a quick blash on SR as well and that seems to follow the classic sonic formula and that is no bad thing.

On this subject, has anyone done any tests to find out which of the two consoles is the more robust?

That is, which one can take the most beating?

The lesson to be learnt from this is:
never buy the first model of a new nintendo handheld.
They ALWAYS screw you over by bringing out a new one!

Congrats on the Lite - hope you can get your Wi-Fi fixed soon

Well, it deffo wont work atm as the DS does not support WPA, but it wouldnt work with zero security last time I tried.

This buffalo AP is rubbish anyway, I am going to get a netgear as soon as my ebuyer account is fixed. Hopefully that will solve it

I actually need to have a clear out, I have a router, an ethernet modem and an AP going spare.

Mike, I would have to say that in my unscientiffic estimation the original is the more hardy console, the DS lite feels like it would not survive a fall on to concrete and come out unscathed but the DS would crack the concrete I think.

Gameboy Advance - Gameboy Advance SP - Gameboy Micro
    DS - DS Lite

I found the original DS far easier and more comfortable to hold. I'm not convinced the Lite version is worth upgrading to because of this. The DS is small enough as it is with becoming smaller!

Don't know what DS you have, but the DS is huuuuge. The DS Lite isn't exactly compact... compare that to a Gameboy SP or even advance...

I just got a DS Lite (black) and it's just as impressive as everyone says. NSMB is loads of fun and seems really long too, which is a good thing. Long battery life and a really bright, clear screen too.The only downside is that it smudges quite easily and I've already scratched the back a bit.

I love my DS Lite, mainly due to purchasing Mario as well, which is imo the best DS game available. Grab a copy and play multiplayer!

    Unhappy

I bought my DS on a whim and wish I had waited for the Lite. Not upgrading now though!
