Didn't Used To Be That Hard Did It?

Street Fighter II is out today then for the 360 XBLA. I just downloaded it, and although I've not played for a good few years and the 360 pad takes some getting used to, it still seems a bit harder than I remember.

Anyone else who played the SNES \ Arcade versions notice this?

I've been reading another popular gaming forum and people are saying the same thing - seems to have been made more difficult.

I actually had to try to clock it on the lowest setting, some of that was because I am still very much getting used to the pad, and keep missing my fireball \ dragon punches, mostly dragon punches when I'm on the right side of the screen. I haven't even tried getting the TOD combo or anything against the AI yet; I look like some 10 thumbed amateur on it.

So, people who have played this game before, seem harder to you?

Also, since when can Honda do his sumo press thing from one side of the screen right to the other when I throw a fireball without me being able to block it? That never happened to me before.

And Vegas backflip seems a much better move now. Oh, and Bision is stretching the rules as well when played by the AI with his throws, its ignoring everything I throw at him.

    Capcom having a giraffe?

it's definitely harder than I remember. I used to be pretty good at the default settings with Ryu on the snes but on this version I struggled to get past the third fight. Online is brilliant though (even if I'm not very good) I've stuck to Guile (online) at the moment as he seems to be the easiest to get to grips with. I'm not overly found of the floaty feeling d-pad of the 360 compared to the Snes though, definitely a lot eaier to pull the moves off with the snes pad.

One thing I have found is beware of some E. Honda players as 2 of the ones I've come across really spam the same move constantly (1 hundred hand slapped while moving across the screen and the other belly flopped constantly) not letting you get a move in edgewise

It is a lot harder. I used to play this on the arcade machines and complete it, plus I had it on my Mega Drive and was pretty good at it then.

I don't know if it's the controllers, but executing the moves seems a whole lot harder

I've just had a quick go at Carl's this morning.

It's harder and just I just got battered and it was on the easiest settings.

I for one dont think its the controllers as although the moves seem a little difficult to pull off the computer AI seems stupidly to be set on uber difficult.

For example playing with Ryu agaisnt Dalsim (sp) it lets you hit them with a few of the moves then as soon as you try the move again Dalsim teleports and gives you a kicking or sets you on fire .... happened everytime I tried to pull off any move - shall give it another bash when I get in tonight tho

I played it on an emulator the other day (so nothing Xbox360 related), and I noticed it was much harder than how it was on my SNES.

So.. it's probably just me, I don't think it has got harder.

I know what you mean about the difficulty. I've had to go down to 1 star to beat anyone in single player, as for online I'm getting a serious ass-kicking.

I thought it was about the same. I was never any good back on the SNES and I'm still not any good on the 360.

I'm getting murdered on this. I've only downloaded the trial version. Is it really worth getting the full version? What do the HD graphics look like?

Hyper fighting is identical to the X360 version. The trial was easy despite the CRAP! dpad.

Edit: I thought the trial had the full GFX?

looks liek many of you played the nerfed SNES version as a kid and never knew the joys of hyper fighting. The SNES version was rediculously easy and it's the hyper fighting edition that was used in tournaments due to the larger moveset, faster pace and more required skill.
