    Battlefield 2 help

Hi people this is my first post and I'm looking for a bit of help.

I'm having a problem playing battlefield 2. The game loads up and when i go to single player and press start game, its comes up starting then goes black and then back to the desktop. Ive contacted EA but none of their sollutions have worked.

    My system is:

    MSI KT4V mainboard
AMD athlon 2000xp running at 1.7ghz
    realtek AC97 audio
    Asus v9999/td geforce 6800 128mb
    1.5gb of ddr400

I have updated all the drivers for these and still no luck
    any suggestions?

    Thanks
    Dean

BF2 is very senstivie to overclocking, especially on the RAM. I've seen many prime stable machines crap out on BF2. Try standard clocks. see if it still crashes.

    other than that, reinstall/repatch.

Could be the problem that chuckskull mentioned, you dont need to go all the way back to stock, but i guess thats a surefire way of garunteeing its not the o/c, some people just lowered theirs by a few mhz. It could also be a problem with the 1.3 patch, instability with that was beyond a joke.

you tried setting your desktop to 800x600 @ 60hz ?

if that dont work its not a screen resolution issue.

Yup 1.3 is ridicuolously unstable. As I found out crashing every 5 minutes last night. As for the overclocking, my approach to fixing thing is generally hard and fast as I dont like being without anything I want for long A few mhz may well work.
