    Movies/Music on DS Lite?

Right i'm looking in to how to get movies/music etc on my DS lite now (well more movies than music really).

The GBA movie player sounds tempting, but i've heard mixed reports about it working on DS's.

So question one - can anyone confirm that the GBA movie player will play movies on a nintendo DS lite WITHOUT a passme/passme2/nopass device?

Secondly if I wanted to 'upgrade' to a more powerful homebrew media player and/or emulator, would I be able to simply get a nopass device and use it with the GBAMP?

Grateful for any help here Or if theres a better adapter around for a similar price (GBAMP is around 25eur inc shipping) that could also be cool

OK, I cannot confirm it but the reason for a nopass is to run DS code from the GBA slot, so if it's purely GBA functionality then no, you shouldn't need a nopass.

You may as well go the whole hog and get a decent DS hombrew solution with a nopass; best options that fit flush with DSL are:

*SuperCard Lite, takes microSD cards. High compatibliity and runs most homebrew. (mine is coming tomorrow )

*G6 Lite, internal 512MB memory, not the best solution for homebrew because they have closed FAT drivers, so a lot of homebrew doesn't currently work. (currently own this but it's going back because some homebrew I want doesn't run)

*M3 Lite - not out yet, but it's from the same people as G6. Takes MicroSD, should be high compatibility, dunno about homebrew though. Will probably be quite expensive.

*EZ4L - Takes MicroSD. Poor build quality, not great compatibility. Go for one of the above.

To play movies/music you'll need somekind of media player - MoonShell is the current fave. Bear in mind you need to convert your movies to dpg format first..

From what I've picked up, the SuperCard lite seems to be the best bang for buck out of all those (£35 + media).

It's probably best you read up on all this to make sure you get the one that suits you best - www.gbatemp.net is a brilliant site for this, as is www.maxconsole.net

Supercard Lite is the best flashcart out there atm. No exceptions. Mine came on saturday, and it works great with moonshell (movie/mp3 player).

aaah ok that clears up my main point then, so the nopass is only for DS homebrew..

I have looked through maxconsole and its forums - which is where all my confusion has come from Too much conflicting advice on there heh.

I'm not all that fussed about running DS homebrew at the moment, but I guess if it's not that much more expensive it could be worth getting a full solution..

So for example I could get a supercard lite + nopass + media, and I would be able to play movies with moonshell? (and ds homebrew if i wanted?)

Yep. Moonshell is DS only BTW (AFAIK). You can get GBA ones but I don't really know that much about them.

Supercard Lite + Superkey + microSD (don't forget the card reader ) is a good combo.

For about £50 + media that should do you nicely
