    rareware games on the DS??

Just a random thought that hit me while playing on Mario64 DS last night - wouldn't it be ace if such games as Banjo-kazooie, Goldeneye and jet force gemini could come to the DS?

I would guess that the chances are low-none right now, because of rare selling out to microsoft (who can blame them I guess, nintendo are not great at giving developers reasons to develop for their consoles), but does anyone know for sure?

A real shame if it's not possible, as games like mario64 and metroid have shown how well 3d platformers and shooters play on the DS, and personally I would be happy to buy the 'cream of the crop' of N64 games (ie almost all of rares)for my DS..alongside the new and original titles.

nintendo owned more than 50% or rare - they were sold by nintendo for being an underperforming developer

as for DS games, it's possible but unlikely - depends on a) whether microsoft are really doing a handheld and b) who owns the IP for some of the games

bear in mind all Rare games for game-boy advance were released post-Microsoft-buyout

Its the IP I was wondering about...iirc the GBA games they released were only released because those games were already under development when microsoft bought rare..not 100% on this though.

    Still we can hope

Rareware is one of the best developers imho. I'd definitely buy a DS if something like Donkey Kong Country became available!

As far as I know I believe microsoft own what's left of rareware and I think the people who worked on the classic titles are gone now.

I read somewhere that Killer Instinct 3 was being developed for the xbox 360 but I can only hope it's going to be as good as the original.
